U-Mix44 error message / no sound

hey guys.

i recently bought the U-Mix44. installed all the latest drivers and stuff, but it doesn't work, that means i get no sound in both winamp and FL Studio. i tried it with the "MixVibesAsioUmix44" ASIO-driver (in FL and winamp), nothing works. also, if i set the I/O to standart ("2-MixVibes U-MIX44 Sound Device"), tried again in FL and winamp, it produces an error that says "couldn't create the main streaming DirectSound buffer". what's that about? i hope you can help me.

i have a dell studio 1555 (core2duo) laptop and ESI nEAR05 speakers with a EVENT s100 subwoofer.

thanks

Did you try it on different USB ports? Have you tried a clean reinstallation?

Greetings,

Steve

yes, i tried reinstalling the asio drivers for the U-Mix44, it didn't help. (there are no other drivers i forgot to install, right?)

i will try the other usb-ports..

- does it work with DVS LE ?

no, it doesn't work with DVS LE. it's the same as in FL, i see the volume bar move with the music and i have the output 1 LED on the U-Mix44 give a signal when music is played (the USB LED is also on, of course), but i do not hear any sound. and yes, i turned the volume level knob on the U-Mix... i don't get it, i work it the same way i did with the other interface (Line 6 Toneport UX 1), plugging the speakers via the phones input (= monitor on the U-Mix).

i also tried all of the usb-ports on my laptop. it really freaks me out by now.

any suggestions concerning the error message i told you about?

You should set the volume into the windows audio panel.

The error message is unknow to me.

erm, how i should hear any sound if the monitor level knob on the U-Mix is at zero.. ?

and i did set the volume in the windows audio panel, i double-checked it.

the error message appears to come up with some directX problems.. i'm gonna try updating my directX..

You don't need to hear the sound, you will see into the software if there is sound on the outputs or not (view/main volume).

You should try your soundcard on another computer so we know if it is the soundcard that is dead or if your computer can't hang it.
