Cross and Vestax VCI-100

Hello everyone.
I have severe problems with my VCI-100 trying to get it working with Cross.
Does anyone use the VCI-100 with Cross and the jogs are working? If so I wanna know where the differences to my machine are.
As some other remotes are working great on my machine (VFX-CONTROL, Pioneer CDJ 350 & 400, RELOOP Digital Jockey 2...), my 3 year old VCI-100 keeps me wondering. The preset mapping didn't match the MixVibes-Plates for CUE and START buttons but for the original plates. Thanks to the MIDI-editor it took me only a few moments to successfully change this. But the Jogs are not working properly. Cross gets the MIDI-stream of every function but the jogs only work when turning the outer rim to change speed +/- 1%. The touch sensitive area is without function like used for cueing or scratching. But touching it can switch CD/VINYL-mode.
I tried this on 1.4 on two machines (and also on 1.5beta).
Anyone got a hint?
greetings and thanks in advance
Ralf

Hi Ralf,
If your VCI is that old, it probably has the 1.1 firmware on it, which is horrible. I'm using the 1.2 (current from Vestax) and 1.3 (current from DJ Tech Tools) firmwares and things seem to work fine. In earlier versions of Cross there was support for the old firmware, maybe you can download an older version and see if it works?
Regards,
Phaded

Have a look to
http://www.djtechtools.com/ for their upgrade tool or if you go to mixvibes headquarters come with your vci.
To know which firmware you use, do you have any coloured sticker on the back of the vci? If you have a green sticker it's 1.2 firmware

Hey J. and P., Thanks for your answers...
So DJ Diego's and my VCI are simply OLD... ( I got mine in Juli '07 and it has a white label on it)
So if I got it right from what I saw before before I have to have/build a flashing unit or change some Flashprom or whatever. I will take care about this, try this on my own and afterwards try to change Diego's VCI... Any help or hint is appreciated.
I think I won't manage to get to france before Musikmesse but chances are fine that we will all meet there at the big booth in Hall 5 in April...
Again: THANKS!!!
yours
Ralf

it's a file and a very simple RS232 flashing kit. You need to open the VCI & plug the unit, load the file. That's all! This kit is on sale for cheap if emergency

Check into MidiOX to see if it is sending something (or not) as expected...
I currently loose my upgrade kit and need a new one too for testing the famous 1.4 from DJTT.

Yesterday I tended to get the small pcb for flashing it on my own. But I just found out that there is a german VESTAX-Service (Mr. Fischer) who will upgrade it for free (possibly to 1.2) which will help us (Diego and me). If we get our units packed on monday we will receive them on friday latest so we can proceed at the weekend. I think I will take this version first for about 6 euros for shipping and with garantuee for the flashing process. Afterwards I will try to get a new pcb for flashing it on my own.
Your meaning about 1.3? Is it worth the effort? Is it fine with MV (Producer and Cross and maybe player 3/4 on VFX-CONTROL)?
Greetings
Ralf

oh... the vci-100 works fine on Producer. And in Cross you see the colour of the unit's name in the MIDI-preferences changing when receiving any command via MIDI from the assigned gear. And it lights up when touching the jogs or turning them. So MIDI is received but somehow in the wrong way. I will get my VCI flashed and then it should be solved...
Will keep you informed!
have fun
Ralf

My goal is to test the new 1.4 to know if we're still compatible :
