I went into my audio preferences in mixvibes and switched it from idj3 asio driver to the primary sound driver and speakers (realtek high definition audio)and my music is laying fine without any lag now and both of those settings.

Now you can see it that it is related to teh soundcard itself.

I previously had it connected from the mixer into my receiver with rca (red & white) cables which I'm assuming somehow was giving me the lag.

It is strange because someone else was having the jog issue when it was hooked to his external hifi amp :

My issue now is that the mixer seems unresponsive. It still lights ups but the buttons dont seem to work.

Do you have a webcam on your system ?

Those kind of issues usually are :
- usb drivers conflicts
- under powered usb ports
Check with an active usb hub or another computer.

i installed the drivers and software onto a laptop and everything worked out fine with no problems. The mixer was responsive, my music was able to play out of my receiver with no issues. My main computer is the one running with 6 gigs or ram whereas the laptop is only running on 2 gigs of ram. They are both 64 bit systems. I am not sure what the problem is. Could it be that I need a new soundcard?. The soundcard issue makes sense as far as the music not playing out of my receiver but why wouldn't the mixer be responsive on the desktop. When I used the laptop the mixer was responsive with the software with no issues at all. If I moved the fader it happened at realtime on the software running on the laptop. If I try the same actions on the desktop nothing happens. All I get is the four buttons and the autoloop buttons lit up, nothing more. I figure it should work on the desktop thats running with better ram. Thanks for the help thus far, but any suggestions to get it straightened out?

Edit: The 6 gig ram desktop is running on Vista and the 2 gig ram is running on Windows 7

You have an issue with ground : usb is related to ground and computer chassis.

A ground loop isolator could help you on this with your desktop but the second choice is free

The licence key is on the cd sleeve of the software. If it isn't, see with your seller or with Numark support.
