Dear Support team,
I have recently bought your U-Mix Control Pack to enable me to live in the digital time of djaying. After having bought your products I installed it on my brother's computer (Vista) as I was visiting him. The U-Mix Control then did not work. After struggling and changing USB port several times the system started suddently to work. Once at home I installed the package on my computer (Win XP). The same probleme appeared again but this time I never succeed in making the thing work. Now after two weeks of trying I wonder what to do.
Regards,
Dompa

Hey,
can you please be a bit more precise? What is not working? The programme, the drivers, the hardware? Are there lights on at the U-Mix? Is it installed properly (have a look into your hardware manager)? Does it appear in the software? Can you choose it as a controller?
Please write as much informations as you can give, the better we can help you.
Greetings,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thank you for taking your time and reply to my post. I will try to be more precise now.
First the software is woking meaning that I can load a track and play it by using the interface of the software itself.
My U-Mix Control hardware is plugged to an USB port and I have the small green light on showing that it is having the necessary power from the computer. On the U-Mix Control hardware no other ligths are on and absolutely nothing happens is I try to use it. This was the situation I had when doing my first installation on my brother's computer then after changing USB port many times everything started to work as it should.
In the the 3DEX U-Mix Control software (on the MIDI tab more precisely) the activate checkbox is selected. The drop down list of device is empty. The field below shows MixVibes U-Mix Control. If I click on the edit button nothing happens. The Omni checkbox is unchecked as I do not understand its meaning. The way it looks like on the MIDI tab of the software let me think that I cannot chose the U-Mix hadware as a controller.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the software many times now without being able to have the controller working. I do not find the controller in the hardware manager of Windows. My computer is an Acer travelMate 4280 with Windons XP Service pack 3. As a sound card I have also a U-Mix44 installed.
Some help will be greatly appreciated as I start to thing this MixVibes 3DEX LE is my worst purchase ever. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dompa

Both sound like a driver error. The controller is not recognized by your operating system. Is there a driver disc delivered with the controller? If so uninstall the controller if possible and do a clean reinstallation. This should work. You can leave the software as it is, it should work.

Steve

YES

NO

You can't uninstall it as it only use the audio/MIDI driver included in Windows.
You can leave the software as it is, it should work.
TRUE
There is a driver conflict with the audio/MIDI driver of Microsoft. By experience it comes from other devices as web-cam or previous use of the USB port.

Hello,
Thanks for your replies. I think I have tried now everything but without any positive result. The controller won't appear anywhere in Windows thus making it impossible to uninstall and reinstall it. This problem is not specific to my computer as I did experince some difficulties at day one when trying to use the system on my brother's computer. Only after about 30 minutes insisting in plugging in differnet USB port the controller started to work. On my computer unfortunately it just says no no and no.
Any other device (old or new) I plug to the USB port of my computer works perfectly. Only this controller is faulty. I have checked the installation CD to see if there is a driver catalogue but nothing. Nothing on the web neither. No updated driver for the U-Mix Control to download. I am just stuck and frustrated.
I bought the package in a shop in Paris but I live myself in Stockholm, Sweden, making it impossible to go back to the shop. Before making my purchase I was very careful about the OS and system requirements. I met all requirements but now all this troubleshooting takes a tremendous amount of energy and time that should not occur.
How do I solv this so called driver error? Is there any possibility that the people at MixVibes send me something? A magic file (driver)to solv the problem and lower my frustration and irritation. Or, should I just throw the all thing away and never have something to do with MixVibes again.
Regards,
Dominique

Microsoft made the audio driver try to reformat your computer O.S
Mixvibes can't do anything! We aren't magicians & definitely not guilty your honour

Hello,
Thank you for your help. In fact I already spent the night trying your suggestion. I knew myself the Ultimate thing last to do, reformatting my OS after backing up everything. It took its time and when I was finally done I tried to connect the controller. Same result. The software cannot start without the controller. Once the controller is plugged in the software can start. I can load tracks and use the software. Go to the MIDI tab. No controller in the drop down list. Try to load a track from the controller. Of course it does not work it is not in my list of MIDI devices. Not a single light beside the green one indicating that the power is on.
I reconnected all my other devices that need to be connected via USB ports. No problem. After trying to connect the controller to all USB ports again I just had a human reaction. I threw the controller through the window. No more controller, no more problem, no more MixVibes.
Cheers,
Dominique/Dompa

You can throw your computer & why not your tv set, your mother in law and also your car (from a bridge it's easier)

you won't prove that Mixvibes fault is the cause of your little mind disaster because it's not.
