Update policy

Postby potfur on 14 Oct 2010, 13:17

Hi, I'd like to buy Mixvibes Cross DJ (as I don't need timecode support), from what i read I can tell that updates bring quite a lot of changes and additions - which is very good, hence my question, as this isn't covered anywhere in product description - for how long am I allowed to download updates for free? as Cross DJ is at v1.4 at the moment, am I allowed to download every update up to and excluding v2.0? or v1.5 will be the magic barrier? anything else?

cheers

Hi,

Cross DJ is definitely the right choice to made.

We can't assure that you'll have version 2.0 for free but you'll get all version 1 updates for free following the MixVibes's update policy.

Feel free to leave a message here if you need anything.

Btw did you download the Cross DJ demo version?

Updates are free. Upgrades you have to pay for. An upgrade involves a drastic change or a massive exclusive feature.

On our other family of products (MixVibes DVS) we have had only updates for the past 6 years. there is no reason it shouldn't be the case for the Cross familyu product.

So yes, you are getting a lot of extra service and more features for no extra charge :D :D

@N-Deep - well yeah, as i wrote - "excluding 2.0" as this will be probably a major change (however I'm counting on some sort of discount :) ) And yeah, i did downloaded demo version, it suits me well, and as i'm into drum&bass and it detects those rather high tempo files quite accurately (although it has some troubles with louder mastered 140bmp dubstep tunes i own). MIDI control is all i need and Cross DJ is the best priced software i've found.

It's nice that these updates are for free (probably we all know many developers who would charge users for such an update like v1.4 [MIDI support] was as they would consider it an upgrade)

Alright, so now nothing is stopping me from buying this nice piece of software

thanks for quick replies,

regards
