A small sound issue with Cross and controller (RMX)

Hi guys, this is something I've noticed with Cross. The controller is my Hercules RMX . It's no really big issue ;)

It was a lot easier to do a vid rather that explaining ;) I'm sorry for the quality of the clip, but it was recorded of my phone. But you can still here and see what I'm on about.

P.S. You might want to turn your sound up a little.

I hope you understood what I tried to show you. I don't know whether it's a bug or not, that's why I posted it here. It just sound strange :(

In my opinion, there is a small issue. If you do a small scratch in vinyl or CD mode on a controller it should sound the same, like it does on turntables or CDJ's.

Or is this issue, just my RMX soundcard? Does anybody else have this small sound issue?

Cheer's Guys :)

Hi Jim !

This is a completely normal behavior.

In fact, in CD mode, it emulates a CD deck without scratching abilities (as they were about 10 y ago), i.e. pitching while playing, stuttering when stopped.

So, not an issue ;)

Hey Jim,

as slyMV already said it is normal behaviour. If you have used CDJs or any other CD Player in the past you might realize, that this is an important part of changing the cue point. In fact not every (nearly no) CD Player is setting the cue points in its right place. So you have to start the track, then press play again somewhere in the "area" near the cue point you want to adjust. So the track is playing in a very very short loop - this you can hear in your video, too. So you can turn the jogs to the place you want i.e. till the first sound is playing. Then you press cue and the new cue point is setting up. The looped sound is needed to detect when the first sound is playing. If it would not be looped than you would not hear a sound and you could not set the point.
But nevertheless good that you mentioned it, I guess that there are some other DJs around asking if this might be correct :)

Greetings,

Steve

By the way Jim, thanx a lot for making a video !
This is a really good idea and make everybody understand the point more quickly !

Any user reporting a bug should do the same :)

Cheers,

You're right, probably not the best place. Can you suggest a better alternative for future reference ;)

May be hosting the file on a file sharing platform (rapidshare, megaupload, ect) and put the link here.

 the best idea to kill a product is to post bugs on youtube. Please destroy your message jim and use more confidential links.
I am sure you will do it next time you need to, as we realy find these informations very useful to make best products and updates.

Will do Uncle, when I get home.

I'll replace the youtube link with a sendspace link. If that's OK.
