[Solved] Cross 1.4 Keyboard Mapping for Browse Up Down in Me

I have a couple of problems with using keys to scroll up or down in the media rack.

1. If using the premapped cursor keys to scroll up or down it works fine BUT after loading a track onto a deck, I have to use the mouse to click back onto the media rack before the cursor allow me to scroll again. Very annoying as I don't want to use a mouse when mixing.

2. If I try and create my own mappings for "Browse" there is only one mapping available - "Inc.-Dec. Button". This only allows my custom maped key to scroll down through the media rack, not up. I can't add a second to scroll up. This map does however work without having to click back into the media rack after loading a track.

One more thing, the preset maps for PC and Laptop keyboard are both locked and can't be edited - how come?

Any clues/suggestions please??

good morning ,and welcome to mixvibes fourm i like this topic there are post for Cross keyboard mapping by yours truly have not come across the senerio that you have ,but have posted a tutorial on beginers keyboard mapping, also post on more key board mapping for Cross start with thoes postings.will verfy if what is going on is,with the help from support vibes was able to start mapping the key board to my liking ,there will be some trail and error but there is room in the program for that, look at the post and start playing around with it , i an also tried of the mouse but cant spend the monie on a MIDI controller yet
Two postings in tech sup, about Cross 1.4,one in tutorial,on mapping. a little long winded but should get you there, dont recall my keyboard commands acting that way for scroll up/down, not saying it doesnt,,let me know how it goes

briefly check out the scroll up dn function, how are you loading the tracks to the player have used the right click/load a/b, also used the shift arrow left/ player 1. shift arrow right /player 2. havent loss the ability to scroll the media base up/dn when using thease functions, more info please if you come across the solution ,post what the solution is and the exact cause of the problem still long winded

The problem is that there's only one map available for browsing (or scrolling) - called "Inc.-Dec.". On other controls I've looked at e.g. crossfader there are 2 maps - one for "Inc" and the other for "Dec".

I also tried your mappings for loading tracks in A or B (shift+cursor left or right) - the same thing happens - I have to click onto the media window to be able to scroll using the cursor keys again. It's kind of like Cross is using active panes.

damm moving to fast, didnt submit my last reply will go to Cross nd copy the mapping thats working on my comp to see if ther is a difference in the two this tin can and string way of comunicating is a little bothersome

Opened up existing mapping for "browse". avaible presets. inc-dec button(highlighted orange} auto repeat on/off (checked} repeat time 100 first repeat 500 repeat acceleration 0.1 value -1
direct interger button (highlighted orange)value 1

Futher info the key pad #8 and #2 also control the scroll up/dn feature used thease two key strokes with the numeric lk on to control the headphone volume.

glad i was awake this morn, a little coffie and cigs, got me there, the key board mapping is a lot more user friendly than the home version,still loking for a editable image to try to get all of the mapping outlined for a more visual guide, my memorie fails, so a cheat sheet would be nice

This a issue with the focus following the mouse last click.

Add a second key and change the value to -1.

This map does however work without having to click back into the media rack after loading a track.

It's his purpose.

One more thing, the preset maps for PC and Laptop keyboard are both locked and can't be edited - how come?

To avoid editing that could destroy them.
If you need to edit one of them, just duplicate it and edit the copy.
