Media management compatibility Cross - DVS

Is there a way to synchronize media database of Cross and DVS?

Most changes I do from within Cross are visible in DVS, other DJ apps, and in external tag editors like Mp3tag. But it's not vice versa! Changes made in DVS are not accessible in any other application.

Example: Setting a "Genre" in Cross is also valid for DVS and other apps. Setting a "Genre" in DVS is only valid for DVS.
In consequence I have to do all Rating and Commenting in Cross or Dex or other, and then import the song files to DVS...or I have to do all the work - done in DVS - twice.

All editing is also lost in DVS when deleting songs from the *.vib MediaBank and re-importing them.
Therefore I guess DVS is not writing to Mp3 tags but only to the proprietary DVS *.vib file which is unfortunately cryptic (in opposite to Cross' *.mpx)

Is there any workflow to make DVS tagging "public" for all other apps? Since my focus is at the moment at my new toy, which is DVS, I would like to do tagging from within DVS while evaluating songs.

Thanks in advance for any information

P.S.
DVS does not show id3 tag embedded cover art, Cross does.

Some mentioned this before and there is also a problem concerning the cover art issue, which is not solved till now. There is thread about the visibility and ability to read cover art from the id3 tag somewhere on the forums (I guess bug section).
For your problem according the issue that DVS made changes won't affect the id3 tag there is just a simple solution that may not statisfy you: you can use external id3 tag editors like media monkey or different ones, to set your values. These made changes can be read by DVS and Cross. But as I said this solution won't satisfy you because it is no DVS internal programme :-/ Nevertheless a solution ;)

Steve

You need to save ID3 tag to file to enabled your modification to be seen in other software or it will stay in DVS.
