2 soundcards - wont work?

Been reading some threads here but everyone seems to be having problem with their soundcards, using one card with multichannels.
My problem is that im using 2 soundcards.
one internal soundcard and one USB one.
This worked fine on Virtual DJ and everything else...
But Cross Discover DJ with my Ion Discover DJ mixer wont work with this solution.
So how come everything else worked great while Mixvibes software doesn't? Seems quite wierd if you ask me.
It took me 2 minutes to configure Virtual DJ but i've spent all day with Cross software...
So the problem at hand is that im running 2 soundcards, one for master and the other one for que/headphones and i've been reading all the tutorials and every tip i could find but nothing works..
Either the sound from both channels come on one or nothing at all.
As you hear im quite tired and i've been cursing alot on swedish haha but can anybody help me or figure out what im doing wrong?
the reason im using 2 cards is because im going to mix on a friends laptop so he bought a USB soundcard to put in for double channels wich is needed for master/que-headphones.
