cdj 400 as a MIDI controller in Cross DJ (solved) webcam

Hi!

I've searched the help forum in hope i'll find the solution for my problem, but no luck what so ever. I have an external mixer and a pair of Pioneer CDJ 400s. I've just bought Cross DJ software and i'm trying to set my CDJ 400s as MIDI controllers but without any success. This is what i get trying to select a MIDI input device, under the MIDI preferences:

Am I missing something here? I've tried downloading the MIDI files from the download section and still nothing (or i don't know how to use or where to put those files).

I am all out of ideas. Please help.

You should put the player in usb mode, plug it to the computer and see if the computer can detect it as a device.

If you miss one of those steps, any software on Earth won't work with your CDJ400.

No need for sarcasm there.. I am not that stupid.. I've unplugged both of the devices from the PC several times, it detects the devices each time i plug them back in.. They work flawlessly in Pioneer DJS FYI, no problems at all.

One more thing. I had the demo of the program installed prior to the full version, where MIDI is disabled by default. Maybe this is causing the problem? I uninstalled the demo and cleaned my registry before installing the full version of Cross.

There is no sarcasm in what I said, this is pur thruth.
I'm not supposed to know the knowledge level of every ones in here.

The Cross demo setting are not stored in the same folder as the normal version (no need to regedit), so it shouldn't be the issue.
You can delete the setting files in there :

C:\Documents and Settings\_\Application Data\MixVibes\Cros\Cross.settings

and the same with Cross demo folder.

What is saying the device manager about the CDJ400 ?

No problems detected. The CDJ400s are listed as USB composite devices.

OK, I can see you've got a Logitech Webcam and they're well known for issue with the generic audio usb driver of windows :

Would you mind UNinstall them to see ?
If they work with DJS it's probably because the application handle them and don't use the OS layer for this.

Or you can try to see with MIDI ox if they send something, I pretty sure they're not.

Wow. I would never have thought that my webcam was the cause of my problems. I uninstalled the webcam drivers and all seems to be working in perfect order now! Thanks a lot man! Oh and one more question. I've read that Cross will have full HID support for the CDJ400 some time this year.. Any news on when?
