Hi, I am new to the whole Digital world of DJing and am really interested as purchasing Mixvibes.

I have 2 CDJ400's, a DJM700 and a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard.

I am imagining I need to buy the Mix Vibes Software which is available on http://store.Apple.com/uk-edu/product/TW885ZM/A

1. Do i need to buy the Cross Pack with the user interface U46MK2 though or would the software on its own be okay?

2. Also are there any compatibility issues with Snow Leopard?

3. Can I then use 2 channels on the mixer for use with the laptop and 2 channels on the mixer for use with the CDJ's?

Hi- you would need an external sound card also-
This package might be more suited to your needs:
http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/pa ... 7crosspack
Comes with all you need(sound card, software, control HDCD'sand Vinyls)
*1 soundcard is the way to go
*Yeah you can use your CDJ400 no problem.
*Any DJ mixer works.
*User Polocorp uses knows more about compatibility using OSX 'Snow Leopard' than i would(i use XP) ;) .
Just send him a 'private message' from your 'user control panel' for a quicker reply( user 'Polocorp') ;)

Also have a search on the forum for more information regarding Mac OSX Snow Leopard( i think there are audio application issues with a recent release of S Leopard, but might have been fixed in the latest update from Apple).

P.s. Another option(what you were looking at in your post):
http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/pa ... x=mv7cross
This has the HDCD's(what you need), but then you will have to get a sound interface separately(I Use Roland fa66 soundcard myself, because i do a lot of studio work). :)
Cheers

Hey mate :)

Maybe this image will help..

Mixvibes replaces your current CDJ setup by acting as an inbetween the controllers and your external mixer (which I am assuming would be your preferred setup).

Basically the CDJ400s can, and will act as controllers for the Mixvibes software, and the Mixvibes software will output to the mixer in the same way as if you were using the CDJs natively.

If you have not seen the following video, it might clear things up a bit.
