Mixvibes 7 Startup problem

Hi ,

I have this issue with mixvibes 7 that starts buggin me very much.

- I play mixvibes 7.21 with no problem.
- I quit playing, shut mixvibes and the laptop in the correct way.
- take my laptop with me
-being on the spot I connect the mixvibes soundcard, connect the vci100 and start my laptop.
- turn on mixvibes and let my vinyls spin ( after connecting everything ofcourse)
- run the install wizard from options.
- see my mixvibes soundcard and start the procedure.
- AND then : vinyl callibration fails on both decks.

Only way this far is first is to run the original mixvibes 7 install disc, install mixvibes soundcard from this same disc , install the update 7.21 and install the latest soundcard driver.

I do the last 2 updates only because I want to run 7.21 just like I did at my place, this is not necessary to run mv 7.00.

All the drivers are recognised and installed and ready for use.
The soundcard is viewable in vista configurations in Sound .

Sometimes installing everything over helps, sometimes not.

1st . It could not be I have to install everything new if I want to play mixvibes, is it? can somebody please please help me with this?

2nd. Today it is the second time installing everything new
does not help. so I can't even play some records.

Please, I need help with this.

To me this sounds like a problem with privileges. Is your user an admin? I do not know the user structure in vista exactly, but I guess, that it is a problem like this.
Maybe you should uninstall and clean the registry (!) and then reinstall a clean version.

Sounds like Steve is on it again! (Nice 1)
Stupid Vista......
Try 'CC cleaner' to clean your registry -free-.(sorry for the spam!)
You should not have to use the 'wizard' everytime you start up MV.
Something in the registry is not 'kosher'/and or 'Admin' Privileges settings.

Yes , I'm using CCleaner .
I tried a clean reinstall, did not help. I have this problems since day one, they seem to get worse everytime I use mixvibes, today first I could not startup, then mv could not find any sound signal from 1 technics . I own mixvibes for 3 weeks or so .

I don't know what you mean with running vista in admin mode,
i have only one account on my laptop , but I will google it before
I start asking stupid questions.

do you have UAC ( user access control enabled ) if so turn it off
Vista and windows 7 has UAC which blocks applications among other things that it does not see as trusted therefor settings etc are not written to the registry.

I have put UAC off , but that did not help much ...
I had trouble callibrating turntable 2 , now I had troubles with tt 1.
No signal input.
restarted the laptop , got tt 1 playing as it should and found issues with tt 2 again.
I managed to have both playing correct but at a certain time I became
have issues with both during playing himself.
Also I have got a annoying sound trought the output for a certain time.
started mixvibes AGAIN and it played correct.

Also I had a moment mixvibes close down cause of an error.

I don't understand it, my laptop is less than a year old and never had issues with it.

try running the reset.exe from the installation folder on your laptop
open MV again and install wizzard should appear

What version of the U46 driver are you using?
have you muted the monitor outputs in the u46 control pannel?

Another thing you can try is make a dedicated partition of say 20 gig, to -Mixvibes Only- ; install win XP (not WIN7 to avoid new driver probs) on it with only basic drivers to run the PC (graphics drv,sound card Drvs ect), follow the tutorial on 'optimizing XP for MV', viewtopic.php?f=207&t=11532 and that is a solution that should remedy your problems FOR SURE!

it's been a while since I have been here .
First , happy newyear to you all !

After following the help in this topic I did not manage to get mixvibes
working correct in vista. Sometimes mixvibes works , sometimes not.

I have used the latest drivers available on the mixvibes forum.
I did I think not mute anything, besides that all the faders were gone at a certain time . Maybe because I also played around with asio4all drivers , my fault in that case.

I have thought about making a 2nd account on vista with xp on it, but decided to make a other move.

For use of XP (which I love as a os ) and portabillity I just bought
a Hp 5101 nn368ea netbook . I hate vista and don't trust windows 7 yet, also everything always works right in xp so why change.
Because I also use reaper as my main and only DAW I decided
to buy that netbook and set the thing up to only use Mixvibes and Wavosaur,VLC & Reaper on 2 seperate user accounts. Reaper worked fine on my compaq 700 I owned so I decided to go with hp again.
a friend who has more knowledge about tweaking PC's will set this thing up this week. I can't wait..
Of course I will post a reply when the system will be ready and let you know if it works out fine or not.
