1 touch looping

Is there a way to set up 1 touch looping? That is - just hit a button to set a 4bar loop playing, and hit the same button to end the loop and resume normal play? I don't have much luck setting start and end points - too often the start point is not set at all when I hit the button...

I'd like to set up 4 buttons for this (4bar, 8bar, 16bar and 32bar). Can it be done in MV?

We don't exactly have that, but with a little work you can do it.

Use the autoloop button next to the reverse button on the Carbon skin. To exit the loop you'll have to press play. To change between the loop length, use the BEAT function in the MIDI editor. (One BEAT for up, the other for down).

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reponse.

Damn - I've got limited buttons available on my MIDI controller. This is gonna cause me some problems...

That means I'll need FOUR buttons for setting my loops. Kinda long winded.

Also - the autoloop is not that accurate when in relative vinyl mode. Does not work everytime I hit the button...

Yeah it's not exactly instant, but it's the most efficient way I can think of for the time being. I'm sure you could write something up in Bome's to take care of it, but it'd be more of a pain to program.

you can use "beatloop", so when you hit the key, the loop start with lenght you select, so you just have to set up 1 button more for play, and that's it ;) and i'm not sure, but i think there is something like "loop exit", if you don't like the "play button"

and try "noup" with "loop exit", maybe it works ;)

Hmmm... That's got me thinking. Maybe I can set the note on to trigger the loop, and the note off to end the loop? It means I'd have to keep the button pressed for as long as I wanted the loop to play - but it'd save me a button at least...

Hmmm.....

This could be very easyly done with BOMES MIDI translator, it can be setup so first push will trigger the 4 beat loop second button push will exit loop!

No need for Bomes - I'm quite happy to hold the button to loop!

or maybe you can modify your keyboard preset

so the key work as 1st touch >> note on & 2nd touch note off...

but if you are happy in holding it ;)
