Organising tunes/ Id3 tags

Hi,
Ive been following advice on the forum for organising my music library. Ive scanned all the bpms using mixvibes (Producer) and I have saved using the "save Id3 tag" button. This then duplicated many of the tracks labelling them mp3.xxxxxx. If I understand correctly this is because the original file cannot be written to so the duplicate is a correct version. Then following a bit of research on the forum here I deleted all the original files and renamed every duplicate track deleting the xxxxxx. This took days as it involved renaming several Gbs of music. Having done this I assumed that the Id3 tags would be saved properly so that whenever I use an already existing media base or scan a folder with mixvibes the bpms would appear in their correct saved form. This has not happened! Im not sure if some of the tracks are ok or if its all the same tracks that were incorrect before but having rescanned a directory hardly any of the bpms came up correctly and I have a huge amount of xxxxxx files again. This is incredibly frustrating and time consuming so Im really hoping Ive just missed something important somewhere and there is a simple solution- please, please help!!!
One less frustrating issue- when I select all and scan bpms many of the tracks get an incorrect 120bpms, however when I scan that track individually I get the correct bpm. Any ideas??
Many thanks. Dave
