can't get sound in both outputs with MixVibes Home 7.218

Postby nichebert on 08 Aug 2009, 15:54

Hello all,

Would anyone by able to offer me help with concerns to setting up my monitoring?
I have 3 sound outputs on my laptop:
1) Logitech Z-5 USB speakers
2) Original SygmaTel Audio (integrated)
3) Sound Blaster X-Fi Go! External USB sound card
I have set my master output to be the Logitech speakers, and my monitor to be the external USB sound card (although I did try using the default integrated sound card as my monitor as well), but can't seem to get both of them running at the same time!
For example, if I'm playing a track on one device, and then hit the headphone button, I lose playback on what has been identified as the master output, and can only hear music in the headphones!
How can I configure MixVibes to allow to hear sound both on the master and monitor outputs at the same time?
Please let me know if I have not been clear in explaining my issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Nic.

Hello,

You can't get a better monitoring feature with the home edition. If you need it you'll have to buy another MixVibes' version: Producer or DVS.

Even if I purchase the USB sound interface sold with the box version?

Thanks,
Nic.

I am sorry, it isn't related to the sound card but to the specification of the soft.

  There is one alternative, Hate to suggest it but if you purches a out board mixer with a monitoring system (simple cue feature) the mix vibes home will suit your needs,, i have not went that route yet, dont play around with it enuff   ,,suggest that you surf the fourm if your needs are more than just having a mixing program on a computer only. you can down load demo programs to get the feel of them  there is a feature comparison chart with all the specks of the other mixvibes programs, Have chapioned the effort to get it resolved   and possibly they mentioned a discount on the purches of and upgrade, Mixvibes is one of the better programs out there, its a shame that they dont realize the niche they could fill if they strightened up the monitoring asspect of home 7     :!:

Hi!

Why does the manual for Home 7 state that you can use a monitor feature? Have a look at page 30!

Without it, Home 7 is a useless DJ software even for a amature user in there home!

(In my setup I am able to here both sources if the crossfader is centered, but this is still no good)

EDIT: Even in the demo video on the Home 7 page Mixvibes show that you can monitor one deck and play another (with the crossfader fully to the right or left ;))

EDIT2: Please check out 3:30 in this movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDvLZBKzObo

That was the one I looked at before I desided to go for Mixvibes Home 7and not Traktor DUO.
