mp3 tags and folders in Cross - How

Postby Jim B on 17 Jul 2009, 19:40

2 Questions really regarding Cross.

How can I show my mp3 Tags in the Browser, rather than the File names of my tracks. I've tried to reload Tag and it doesn't seem to work

In my other software I use VirtualDJ. I have folders named House/Drance, Charts, HipHop/R'n'D, 90's, 80's, 70's and so on. Simple but effective. How or can I keep this folder structure in Cross, as I can't find how to do this.

import your diretorys into the media base
file/import and select directory
select your folder and media will then be shown with tag info in the collection
(right hand side of the screen click the collection tab.
hope this helps
to keep you r folders as you like maybe endit genre or commens of the mp3 tag so you can still sort it how you like

In order to enjoy the latest Cross update feel free to input your serial number into your profile: ucp.php?i=169

I'm still using the demo. Before I buy Cross I want to make sure I can keep my folder structure the same as I have it In my other DJ software I use.

And at the moment I can't. I've tried to follow the instruction given above by abitmesse, (thanks btw) but I can't seem to keep my folders.

All I'm getting in a very long list of Files in the My Collection tab and no Folders, I want to move all 15 folders over to the My Collection tab and the files to stay in these folders and not a long list of files.

Here's how I have them in my other DJ software

I then can click on the folder and it opens up in the browser. I would like to keep a similar idea in Cross, that's if I can. I will understand if Cross's Media database doesn't work in this kinda way.

Why don't you use the Cross' explorer window?

I thought about that, but at the moment the files are showing me no mp3 tags, just there files names, the size of the file, and the date I added them to my hard drive. And not the important data like bpm, time and so on

If I analyzed the files will that then show me the mp3 tags, bpm, time and so on in Cross's explorer window? Is it possible?

I've just analyzed 10 tracks in the My Collection tab. Good, shows me everything I need to know. Go to Cross' browser and no info (tags, bpm, time) for those 10 tracks.

So it looks like you have to work of the My collection tab for everything you need to know?

Sorry for being a pain in the arse about this, lol

Thanks Guys for all your help.

I can't get Cross Explorer to show me all what I would like to see.

I can see all the track file in the "My Collection" But I like to work from the Explorer and my folders instead of a long list of tracks.

I think I may have to leave this (which is a shame really as I love most of Cross's aspects) and maybe re-visit it soon and see what other development have been put into Cross.

Thanks for your time.
