Mixvibes 7 Home 7.218 Monitoring

Hi All,

I've just purchased Home 7 in upgrading from Mixvibes 5 Pro which I got almost 6 years ago.

Just looking at getting this set up, and am I correct in thinking that 7 Home does not allow multi-channel set up for monitoring, like 5 Pro did?

Thanks,

Matt

  Welcome to home 7 and its monitoring issues,  You probly need to give a little more info about what you need to accomplish, I am just using home as a simple install,no external equiptment except the usb sound card supplied, Havent seem any options to have multi channel sound cards to use as sound monitoring, using a creative sound blaster platium faliaty as my main, sound doggle as mointor,  some one should be along shortly to help, let me know how you enjoy home 7,lots of new features,

Thanks for the welcome. 7 does look a bit better than 5 Pro, but seems to be missing a lot of stuff I'm used to.

Basically, the Hercules DJ Console I use is a multi channel sound card. In MixVibes 5 Pro (which I've also now been able to get working in Vista, thanks to the empty WAV file fix) it allows me to use the same card to allocate a channel to playing the main sound out, and use a second channel on the card for the monitor.

When I then choose to monitor the other track, it doesn't affect the track being played over the main channel like it does in Home 7. Looking a bit more closely, it doesn't look like it allows this in Home 7, so I've more than likely wasted £36 :(

Mixvibes Home edition is entry level software and needs two sound devices (one for the main output and one to monitor with), if you need multichanel sound from one device and/or vinyl control you need to upgrade to Mixvibes 7 Pro (aka Producer) or Mixvibes 7 DVS. Here is the compare your edition page for the curent product line up:

Yeah, the issue I was having with 5 Pro was with the Windows Default Beep. Since changing this to a silent wav file, it's stopped the annoying beep each time a different item is selected from the media base.

Thanks for the comparison link, I couldn't find that when looking yesterday. Does look like I need to Producer version of 7 to do what I want, but as I've got 5 Pro working on my Laptop OK, I think I can stick with 5 for the time being.

I replaced the windows default beep with an empty wav file.
