track selection (edit)

Hi,
The way i usually open mixvibes is to double-click the mediabase shortcut which is on my desktop. (mixvibes1.vib)

Since i updated to 7.21 this shortcut hasn't worked, i get an error message which reads as follows:

"This application has failed to start because FFT.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

I can however open mixvibes, then go to file--> open mediabase
and open it from there. very strange
any ideas?

cheers

tried that, it didnt work. I've just been opening mixvibes and then opening my mediabase afterwards altho its a bit anoying.

I'm having another problem tho
mixvibes 7.21 is very unresponsive to the track selection part of the control record. I know this is a software problem (not a hardware problem) because it worked perfectly with version 7.1

basically i put the needle on the track selector and it doesnt respond. i have to scratch the record forward and backwards violently before it registers. once it has registered the time code signal quality is 100%! quite odd

any ideas?

check that the mastertempo is off.

And just to be doubly sure, are you using the side that has track selection on it or mixinfinite? Track selection is working fine for me...

yep I'm using side B of the records and master tempo is off.

I've just noticed that the timecode position displayed (starting from 8 mins) but not the timecode quality. When i moved the record about a bit (scratch it) the oposite happened! suddenly the timecode quality shot up to between 97% and 100% but the sofware no longer displayed the timecode position. (the new numbers inside the wheel graphic)

If you think it would help i could post a config report with the needles on the track selection part of the records..

thanks

As you can see the timecode quality says 0.5% but as soon as i slow it down a bit the timecode reads 80 or 90%

This problem does not occur when using mixvibes at 33RPM, or with the motor of my turntable switched off. Only when i needle drop onto the track selector at 45RPM.

I like to use mixvibes at 45RPM because i mix drum and bass and all my real records are 45s. this problem never occured with mixvibes 7.1, the track selector worked at any speed.

Could somebody please set their mixvibes 7.21 to 45RPM
(Preferences>options>cd/vinyl input, then check the 45 box)
and needle drop onto the track selector and tell me if its working?

Is this only happening to me?
