Time to get serious...

Postby Patch on 01 Apr 2009, 19:08

I'm about to delve into 'vibes deeper than ever before. I'm gonna become some knd of Mixvibes Ninja/Jedi... In fact, I'm patenting the word "Ninjedi" right here...)

Which skin should I use that has ALL available features covered?

I'm using Mixvibes DVS 7.1 on the system in my signature.

Peace, Love and MIDI Learning...

(Damn - looks like some sucker already beat me to the word "Ninjedi")

Grrrrr...

Damn - more waiting. Goo dnews is, I've got 'vibes set up on my internet partition. That means I can cut and come on this forum at the same time. And I'm using Asio4ALL. Great results. Glad I don't have to fiddle with the ESU drivers anymore!

Groovy.

I'm using the carbon skin at the moment - is there a way to "stretch" the BPM window so that it reaches across the whole width of the screen?

the next uptade will contail lots more MIDI features! 218 has most of them in place but there are still some things to iron out, like MIDI out!

what rez is your screen set to?

normaly the BPM window it set to the same rez as the players, 1024 and 1280, you would have to manual edit the skin to have it fit the full span of your rez if it is different from said skin rez'z.

MIDI out?!? Is that MIDI clock, or MIDI messages/controls?

My screen is set to 1440x900 (17" wide screen). The BPM window only takes up about 1/5 of the screen at the moment...

MIDI out covers a couple of things, there is a new "THRU" flag that passes the MIDI note to the the MIDI out that can be used for lights and stuff on your controller and as soon as "MIDI Out" support is added for harware i'm sure it will pass notes to external hardware along with clock info (i hope).

some features have MIDI out already (noted by "%OUTPUT" in the MIDI config ini file), its all coming on very well. i have been playing with it for the Reloop Digital Jockey but the editor not yet supporting some of the features is rather frustrating so its Notepad editing for now, lol.

you will have to manually edit the skin map and the images that create the BPM window it self, the buttons and knobw will be fine, they will just need moved...

but then it will look odd because the players will remain the same size, unless you can fit 3 players in on a row.

i could do this for you if you wanted.

Me

Cheers Gakto - what would be REALLY cool would be a small player that would fit to the right of the 2 current players. One that only shows the waveform, the cue/play buttons and the pitch slider. Something like this:

(Notice the small BPM window in the top left of the screen).

What d'you think? Doable?
