Is PC fast enough for DVS7??

I have a PC with an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.5 GHz processor, and 1 GB of ram. Can anybody tell me if this will be enough to run DVS7 ? I plan to use the vinyl timecode and like to scratch. Also I was looking at a laptop today that has a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 HT processor with 1GB of RAM. I'm pretty sure that the processor on the laptop would keep up but am leery of the 1GB RAM memory. Does anybody have any experience with my PC specs and performance, or possible laptop specs.??? Thanks for helping....Peace!

Your spec will handle DVS 7 fine, 1 gig of ram is plenty!

Remember that songs are loaded into the memory to be played by DVS, reading from memory is much faster than reading direct from a hard disk... so if you are playing 2 songs at 12 mb each, you will only need 24 mb of memory plus whatever mixvibes needs to run.

I can only assume you will be running windows xp on your system due to its spec, if you follow my tutorial on optimising windows xp for use with mixvibes you can have xp run on as low as 69 mb of memory...

+1 on the modded WP. you should use a dedicated partition of your HD with a stripped down XP just for mixvibes, and use another partition for aother apps to ensure best performances ;)

the minimum requirement for xp to get "confort" is 1024 mo
the minimum requirement for vista is 2048 mo...
Yes it runs with 480 mo & xp but your applications will love to get 1024 mo.
In fact what happens when you don't have enough ram? Windows make a paging file & the processor spend most of it's precious power to write & read your hard drive.
