Question regarding U46MK2

Hello, i'm going to buy mixvibes (normally DVS Pack MK2)
but i would like to know if it's possible to let me know
what my minimal latency will be with this desktop and setup:
2x Technics SL-1200MK2
Vestax PMC05 Pro-SL
Kaoss Pad Mini
Sony MDR-V700
4x 2;87Ghz - 2GB RAM (soon 3,5GB)
Vista Ultimate
The computer is hella fast, so it's only about the U46MK2,
is it good enough to produce a latency of less than a few ms?
i'm a turntablist which means that the speed will be put to the
test every single time, will it be able to keep up with
an unnoticeable latency? Also, are there other users of the U46MK2
who can tell me their latency.
Thanks, greetings, Simon

hi tribble 123...welcome to the mixvibes forums
I think at best your latency @48 sample rate...you get 5 to 6 ms
thats as good as RANE Serato Scratch Live....
I use the EDIROL FA 66 firewire sound card @ 44.1 sample rate ..I get 6ms...but I can use it @ 96 and get it down to 3 ms...& its stable
or you can look at the FIREFACE 400/800 @ 96 & you can get it down to 1.5 ms ...as close to real vinly as your going to get

I don't no about the creative sound cards...never used one
5 to 6 ms is very good...take I look at my favourite mixvibes video from KODH...
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=xpp0tBh3bVM&feature=relatedHe is using the old ESI U46 MK 1 sound card
the new mixvibes u46 mk2 is way better than the old one ( more stable & easy''er to set up )

hi Tribble123
if you want to use DVS for Turntablism then i would you recommend the rme but if you want DVS for mixing then the u46mk2 is a good choice
i use the rme hdsp rpm on a 2x 2ghz notebook
my setings are
44.1khz samplerate
32 bit buffer size
-------------------
0.7 ms latency
my system runs very stable with no sound distortions

I use an Editrol FA-101 on a sony vaio 1.1 ghz laptop, i get a low latency of 3ms...
with tour setup you can expect latencys of around 4 to 5ms, for a usb decive this not bad at all what so ever!
DJ Netik has proven you can get excellent results with the U46Mk2.

Woah
I didn't know everyone ran theirs so high. There's an option in the install wizard for 1.5ms, and I use that just fine with the U46.

+1 on the 1.5ms setting - no problems here:
P4 with 2gb Ram
(Windows XP Home - optimised for Audio) <- This makes a HELL of a difference.
Also - for turntablists - I'd recommend a custom partition EXCLUSIVELY for Mixvibes. If you optimise this partition you'll have a bad ass set-up for cutting/scratching/juggling...
