Just a couple of small niggles im having

Postby Schnibs on 27 Dec 2008, 17:50

Ok so i got my mixvibes DVS mk2 on xmas day and had no real issues setting it up, just a couple of questions i do have if anyone could be of assistance.

Firstly everytime i restart my computer it seems to revert back to a strange setting were the vinyl acts strange, i.e. if you touch the vinyl the mp3 starts playing backwards etc also i can hear the hum thats actually pressed on the vinyl through my setup.
If i go preferences / install wizard. and go through the process of re calibrating each turntable it sorts it every time.
This doesn't work though by going preferences / options / vinyl tab. and trying to calibrate from there, as i get some sort of error. sample was 0 percent or something.
once working again if i close down mixvibes and restart the software its fine, just goes back if i restart my comp, its done it every time.

Next, importing my iTunes brings all my iTunes music into the area on the right, but if i then try to put a song onto one of the decks, nothing happens, no error, nothing. just stays blanc. thus far i haven't managed to play a song off of my iTunes.

Lastly, whats the best method of compiling songs that you want to mix in a set? up to now i have been creating a new group called "mix" where the folders for artists and that are etc.
then copying the songs i want for a mix into there im going to use in a set, then deleting the folder once ive done the mix, is there better method im missing? and is there an easier way of listening to each track other than loading them to a deck just to hear if its a song i want to use?

Anyway ive just got it and im loving the it soo far, been using vinyl for about 10 years and its a bit strange but really good so far :D

Cheers!!

iTunes is sorted.

Ive also entered my serial number into my profile.

Im up to date with patches and drivers but im still having to reinstall everytime my computers rebooted. its not the worst thing in the world but would be nice if i could fix it.

when my computer turns on if i play a record i can hear then hum printed on the record. if i start doing the install wizard again from preferences. and click next through skins etc as soon as i click next on the part that says enable mixvibes to change the u46 setting (which is ticked) the beep goes.
I think its sorted at that point i don't even need to get as far as calibrating each one. i think.
it will be something simple im sure of it.

Quick question, on the instalation cd it says add ons - mixvibes videos, what is that. at first i thought it may be the video mixing thing.

i hate it when things all go wrong at once, getting so stressed lately with these turntables, just found that one of my Numark ttx's is playing up, one of the channels keeps dropping and it plays hell with the mixvibes software, i know its not the needle or cartridge and don't know where to start trying to repair it. one of those months.
