Marking the timecode vinyl, how?

Hello,

I have a problem with my mixvibes. As you all know marking records is one of most vital aspects of scratching and juggling, you can orientate in the song by them. If I scratch on my mixvibes the marking given on the timecode vinyl keeps changing place. So I have no security if I rewind the record the sample would be there.

I have heard that marking timecode vinyl by yourself helps, is this true? Or what should I do to keep the timecoded vinyls as precice and solid as real vinyl??

you just have to change the vinyl-modus from relative to absolute modus. (in the carbon-player in the right uppon corner of the player, or in options/vinyl)

the mooving-problem should be fixed in this way.
but you're not able to set a loop in the software, because of the absoltue timecode-modus)

greets

Hi Matt

Thanks for your answer. But I'm always playing in absolute mode.

Hi melkker,

You're probably better off manually marking your records

Hello Phadedvision,

Thanks for the amazing video how mixvibes should work.
Could you explain to me, how will markin the T-Vs by myself give different solution than the original lable marking?
The marking change is extremely big when I juggle. it takes about 6-7 packspins then the marking have made full circle.

Well personally I use one mark on the label that points at 12 o'clock right where the timecode starts and if I want to juggle or scratch, I make a mental note of where the kicks and snares are. It's a little more complicated that way, but if you have a set routine that you like doing, you can set your markers right next to the needle. It takes copious amounts of patience, but it's worth it. That's what I posted the vid for, to show how DJ Kodh marks his records. Hope this helps out a bit.

yo. Just marking the records doesn't help to fix the problem as I thought.
Could it be fault of lack of RAM? My computer has 512MB of ram.

heay melkker,

post a config report with your turntables playing at 0 pitch so we can have a look and see whats going down... there are a couple of things that can cause drift, the config report should give us the info we need to work on it.

regards
Bryan.

version 7.100 has 'sticker drift' issues if you make drastic backspins. usually what you do in juggling. this is fixed in the next update. you can test it by joining the Release candidate program in the forum.
