Hi all, im interested in purchasing said pack, as after looking it seems really good for the price.

But i have a couple of questions which im struggling to find through google.

What speed can the vinyl be used at? i spin mainly drum and bass so 45 rpm is a big factor, especially after finding the like of torq is only 33rpm vinyl.

and secondly how do you go about recording mixes, i happen to have 2 computers but is it possible to record and use mixvibes on the same PC?
Or do you need 2 sets of phono inputs on your sound card?

Any help would be apprecated

The answer to your first question would be, YES! MV has a 45 mode.



The easiest way to record a mix if you're using the U46MKII soundcard would be to plug a red/white to headphone jack from your mixer output into the microphone jack on your computer, then record with a free program such as Audacity.

Mixvibes timcode vinly will work at both 33 and 45 rpm, these options are in the vinyl control configuration.

You will be able to record your mixes on an external source via an output on your mixer.

Mixvibes has the ability to record your mixes with the supplied Mixvibes U46MK2 soundcard.

No, the vinyl is cut at the same speed on both side, with 45 rpm mode activated in the control panel you must have the turntable play the time code at 45 prm.

1. Both sides are 33, all you have to do is change the setting in the options tab.

2. Yes, you can use the mic input for recording on your computer. You just need a cable to plug from the output on your mixer to the mic input.

3. Yup! The soundcard pictured in the pack is the U46.

The only reason you can't record with the U46 is because it has 2 inputs and 3 outputs, not 3 inputs and 3 outputs. More information on that here. (http://www.mixvibes.com/site/pageeng/pa ... faq#ancre2)

One last complete noob question,

Ive always had my decks plugged into the phono inputs on my mixer, but this need to be plugged into the line.

when the decks are plugged into the line they just sound awfull, or are they not meant to be? tbh i don't even know what the line is used for?

Just before i find my mixers knackered and ive splashed out on this.

The line input is mainly for CD turntables, iPods, etc. I believe there's some sort of internal difference between the two (phono/line).

Good news for you, there are Y-cables in the DVS pack that allow you to be plugged into phono and line at the same time. So if you wanted to play a regular vinyl in one of your sets, just flip the line switch to phono and you're good to go. There's also a button in MV called "phono bypass" which allows you to use regular vinyl through MV, but it's also good to make sure it's on even when you have the switch back to phono (just so MV doesn't read your vinyl as timecode).
