Difficulties Installing on Mac Please help...

Postby dave1 on 18 Nov 2008, 17:06

Hi People,
I just bought Mixvibes and i'm having no luck at all installing it on my mac, although it claims to be compatible with macs...? anyway when I try and run the install.exe ~(as it dosen't start automatically) the error msg says "the document "install.exe" could not be opened. System Profiler cannot open files in the "system profiler document" format." So it looks like basically the Mac isn't recognising the file format of anything on the installation CD. Is there a way to change the format? or install something on the mac so it will work? Alsowhen I try and connect the U46 Mk2 it says that it is taking too much power and the usb won't play... but I never rcvd a dc power supply with it? If anyone has experienced the same problem or can help please get in touch. thanks in advance.
much love
Dave

Hi Dave and welcome in our community.

What software did you try to install? Is it the MAC U46MK2 driver? As this device is Core audio compliant you do not need any driver. Feel free to download its control panel from here:

i'm having more trouble actually installing the software for mixvibes. I've just been reading other posts about the mac. and it looks like people are suggesting using boot camp, or something similar? but looks like i have to pay.. is there anyway to get it free? thanks for your quick response... i'm donwloading the control panel now, see if that helps... but it looks like i'm gonna have to install windows on the mac...

Hi Dave, .exe is a PC only format, no wonder you've been having "issues"

The U46 is plug and play :D

The sound interface is MAC compatible but the MixVibes 7 software is PC only...

You have two options, either install bootcamp or buy test the Mixvibes Cross demo which is our brand new OSX software : http://www.download.com/MixVibes-Cross/ ... d=10895665
