[SOLVED]Installation issue with U46DJ MK2

YOUR SUGGESTIONS WORKED. I ALSO HAD TO INSTALL DRIVERS AT SAME TIME AS SOUNDCARD. MAKES SENSE :)

Hi everyone, thanks for answering vdwielto's installation question. Now I'm having this same problem on Windows XP with Virtual DJ but the solutions offered before aren't fixing it. This setup should be working, but when I launch Virtual DJ I get an error message stating "Error in the ASIO sound driver" I've downloaded the updated drivers and still the same problem. It seems as if my computer isn't reading the USB Audio Device since its not showing a second one in Device Manager and when I go into Virtual DJ it only gives me the ASIO soundcard option and not U46DJ. Here's vdwielto's original post to give more context. Any suggestions? ....

I have an issue with installing the mixvibes soundcard U46DJ MK2 on my laptop.

After installation (with the CD) the U64DJ control panel is all grey / blocked / unabled. It does not distinguish any channels. So in my Traktor (VIRTUAL DJ for me) program i can only select one channel.

The music from my laptop passes through the soundcard to my amplifier but there is no monitor channel that i can use to pre-listen my tracks.

what i ideally want to do is put one of my decks (on Traktor) on cue to pre-listen it through my headphones.

I have already guessed about possible causes:

1. The MK2 installation manaul states there should be 2 instances of "USB audio device" in the windows Vista > system > sound menu. I noticed that there is only one instance of U46DJ

2. the sound setup of Vista is put on 5.1. dolby surround, some forums state that you have to select the 'quadraphonic' option, which i don't have on my vista. I HAVEN"T SWITCHED THE SOUND SETUP, I DONT KNOW WHICH TO USE

But i don't have a solution yet so all advice and help is welcome!

Here's a general solution you can try:

Uninstall ALL ASIO/ESI/U46 drivers you have installed, then reinstall ONE of them, using only ONE USB port.

Also, I don't think quadraphonics really should have an effect. Which reminds me, I still want to buy that Vestax ISP 07 mixer...

Hope that solves it!

hi downbeatscape, what version of the driver have you installed. Make sure you follow phade's instructions and install the 1.039 driver for best performances.

the pannel is grey usually when you use a different USB port then the one you used during installation ;)

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. It's still not working :( Do i need to uninstall my computers normal audio drivers too? Also, when I download and install the updated driver from the site (v. 1.0.39) the virtual mixer box that shows up says ESI U46 (not U46MK2) and it is still gray. Still also getting the "Error with ASIO driver" message. Further thoughts?

I really appreciate your help. I'm new to this and trying to figure it out on my own...

Keep your normal audio drivers. Are you plugging your U46 into the same port you installed it in? Have you tried uninstalling previous drivers, reinstalling only one, then restarting your computer? Sometimes that can help. Also, if the ESI driver isn't working for you, try this one http://asio4all.com/ It is important that you have only one audio driver (aside from your normal one) installed at a time. Hope this helps.

Not a specialist with VDJ as you can imagine, but regarding ASIO issues, you should deinstall all previous drivers and make a clean reinstall. make sure you always use the same USB
