[solved] Producer 7 crashes when looping

Postby bzbatl on 20 Aug 2008, 02:15

I'm running this on a fresh install of Windows XP, fresh install of MVP7. No apps running in background other than standard Windows processes.

This is connected to a Firewire Mark of the Unicorn Ultralite. The Vestax VCI-100 is also connected.

When I click the loops (to loop a section in progressively smaller beats) MV eventually crashes. The program just closes. I am simply clicking on the loop points with the mouse in standard and smart looping mode.

I have tried this with and without the VCI hooked up and can recreate the problem every time.

Any ideas?

Which version are you using? Is it the latest one (7.1)?

Yes, 7.1. It takes approximately 10 clicks for it to crash on me. I've recreated the problem on my desktop, as well.

Solved - it wasn't 7.1. For some reason, I installed the 7100 update, but it apparently didn't take. The About>Version kept showing 7043, no matter how many times I installed it. I tried using reset.exe before installing, but it just seemed to clear my settings and nothing else.

Finally I uninstalled, rebooted, then reinstalled 7043 and the 7100 update before starting the program. 7.1 is now definitely installed... and...

It seems to be doing loops with no issue now.

Thanks.
