Line switch mean that the preamp stage is handled by the software, this mean that any backgroud noise will be also amplified.
Phono switch is handled by the preamp inside the soundcard and offer better electrical and noise performances.
Conclusion : if you intend to use the bypass go with phono or preamp, if not stay in line. Keep in mind that you could probably loose some tracking precision in phono due to the "color" the preamp can give to the timecode.
