Ok, so I have tested on my W7x64 and tried to record a cd deck connected directly to the inputs 1&2.

It work flawlessly for me, I just needed to adjust the input gain. I have tested several settings and on very heavy clipping (huge overload) I could repoduce the kind of sound you have in your file.

There 3 places to check for the volume inputs :
- the maya 44 panel
- your recording software
- the W7 audio panel

Dam, this is totaly crazy, i have tried anything and it is only on XP that it does work.

What i still don't understand, i have installed these drivers on difference Windows 7 X64 machines i do have exactly the same.

I tried many record levels and even when it is not at the maximum, i get the issue. If it is very low, i do also have it.

I will try to record with Audacity.

I did it with the soundrecorder of WIndows 7 but the same.

I really getting desperate.

You have setup your soundcard in 48 or 44 htz ?

Thanks a lot to continue helping me. I am still confinced this is a driver issue but more troubleshooting is always helpfull.

The soundcard is configured in 44 Htz in the Maya control Panel, The output is at highest volume and the input volume is very low.

In the WIndows settings, it is also in 44 Hzt.

In the record soundcard volume in windows, it is at 50, i tried other settings which are lower or higher but the same issue.

Then i simply play a sound into Winamp, WMP, Mixvibes LE. I hear the good sound quality into my mixer and the output of my mixer goes directly in the input 1/2 of the MAYA 44 SE.

I see on the MAYA 44 SE and the input level works (lights)

it is the exact same configuration on Windows XP. I compared both settings.

Did you use the MAYA 44 SE to test because i still have the same issue on on the same configuration on other laptops and desktop which are on Windows 7 X64.

Your help is really appreciated.

Yes it was a 44SE, because as I told you I have 3 of them :

ESI Maya 44usb with blue/white label
Audiotrak Maya 44USB with gold label
Mixvibes Maya44 SE with green/orange label

If I understand well, you're not using asio to record ? I was using DVS to record the cd player from the inputs in asio mode.

EDIT : so I tried in WDM mode and it also worked.

To be honest i am myself IT support, So know how to troubleshout but for this issue, i don't see anything else than a driver issue.

With which software can i record in Asio instead of DirectX ? Freeware if possible, i did try Soundforge, WIndows Recording, CDEX analog input recording, Audacity but in all cases 44 or 48 Htz i got the same situation.

Did you try to record the MAYA 44 SE on other laptops ?

I got a Dell E6400 and a Compal HEL 80 and i know that on both it worked on the X86 version but i recently upgraded both on WIN X64.

I have 3 hard drives on my current desktop, 2 has their own WIndows 7 X64. So on one Windows 7 X64 i can do wathaver i want since it is used for testing purposes.

So if you have possible crazy idea to test or fix the issue, i can do it.

Edit : I uploaded another MP3, the first 15 seconds are the original song, the other 15 seconds is the same song at the same part but record from the MAYA 44SE)

You cannot recognise the song in the second part.

I have done the test with : HP pavillon DV6000 C2D 1.6Ghz / 2Go => Seven64
I'll try later this day with VAIO i3 2.13Ghz / 4Go => Seven64

Are you running an i3/5/7 Intel cpu ? I know that some brands have issue with these and usb 1.1 because it is emulated on the cpu.

Sorry I don't know for the freeware.

EDIT :
tested on my VAIO VPCEB1M1E W7x4 in WDM mode
and yes I have the issue !!!
The sound is all disorted, with a lot of grain AND it's actually play on a low pitched note.

So I tried in ASIO, and then it was perfect as it should.

AHaaaa, i have indeed a Core I3 CPU, that explains maybe the issue.

You tried in asio and it worked ? Recording in Asio, which software did you use ?

I am glad to see that i am not the only having the issue :)

is there any free software which could do the same ? I used Audacity but that doesn't work.

Can we send this driver issue to the Mixvibes driver support is isn't there any chance to get something ?
