These rundll32 host processes are a pain in the ass for allot of people, i think the best way to get round your driver install is to do a manual install (installing the driver without the driver installer).
If you don’t know how to do this give me a shout and i’ll help you out... bear in mind though i don’t have one of these audio cards myself so it may take longer than usual, lol.
yes i'll need some help....cheers! whats the first step?

Follow these steps for now and let me know when you are done, 1. Uninstall all previous U46MK2/DJ drivers: - Turn off the U46MK2/DJ - Go to [Start > Control Panel > Add/remove programs] and uninstall all U46MK2/DJ drivers 2. Download the new U46MK2 drivers from, [PC] [WIN XP,VISTA32bit] U46MK2 v1.041

Ok, first of all you want to start by unpacking the file “U46mk2__v1.041.zip” that you downloaded from the download centre of the Mixvibes site. You may extract this to anywhere on your computer you like but make sure you remember where you put it, lol. The desktop or in the ”c:\new folder” directories are always easy to navigate too.
Now back to the “found new hardware” box that popped up when you rebooted your computer... first select “locate and install driver software”, the select “don’t search online”, then select “i don’t have a disk, show me other options”, now to browsing your computer for driver software, use the “browse” button and navigate to the folder you unpacked the “U46mk2__v1.041.zip” file to.
Windows will now search the contents of the folder to locate the file “U46WDM.inf” which contains the driver information that windows will use to install your device, windows will the alert you to when the install process is finished and may ask you to reboot you computer...
When your all done don’t forget to run the config wizard in Mixvibes again to get setup!
Hope this works, Regards, Bryan

it would seem then that the uninstaller for the audo card did not remove the driver files from the computer.. it be a real pain in the ass when this happens, lol.
so now from what i can gather, the driver has reinstalled its self and it is connected and effectivly ready to go yes?
you can clear the driver from the machine by visting the "device manager",
click the vista start menu, and type in the serach box "device manager", the from the results select "device manager" (should be the first hit that comes up)
then scrolling down to "sound, video and game controllers", selecting your audio card by right clicking it and then selecting "uninstall", when the uninstall warning box pops up be sure and check the box marked "delete the driver software for this device"..
after all of this, reboot and start again with the install process.

hey, the u46mk2 didnt show up in "sound, video and game controller" so i uninstalled it again and also uninstalled dvs7 .....(so i could install from fresh) everything was fine until i got to the driver again.....and the "new hardware found" box came up again and when i click on "locate and install driver" i dont get anymore options after that to choose it just tries to install it for me and it fails all the time ....then i got a message sayin "driver module has failed to install"
