I have uninstalled and re-installed the driver, I have been using the same usb port the whole time, still I have the same problem, it just returns to 256 once it is unplugged and plugged back in.
I'm not sure if setting it to 288 has solved my problem, I didn't notice any pitch wobbles, but I did get one or 2 crackles/pops during the half hour I was testing it.

I just read all posts in this thread but did not read about changing the latency in the ESI control panel - Please change it there! For me the latency in Cross can not be changed by Cross, I can only change the latency, when Cross is closed, in the ESI contorl panel. Please try that if you not already did. And please optimate your computer for audio software! This may prevent you from changing the latency!

If when you say ESI you mean the U46 control panel then that is how I have been altering it, I did not think there was a way of altering the latency in Cross?
I do not power down the U46, I just unplug it
My laptop has already been optimized, I had done it for DVS7 already
Will changing the Buffer Number have any effect?

Okay, you did all right!
Changing the buffer number might solve the problem, it is worth a try! Did you try reducing the audio cache (0%)? Do you run Cross as administrator?

I do run it as administrator, the Audio Cache was on 60%, I have reduced it to 0% and will have to test it again tomorrow.
I have to say, apart from this issue, whilst i've been playing around with Cross trying to sort this problem, I think this interface is brilliant. The responsiveness of the vinyl is a lot better too, much clearer, much more realistic, haven't had it skip once, and it doesn't jump if you rewind the vinyl. I'm very pleased with it, just need to sort this sound issue and everything will be good.
Also I have tried turning the U46 off before unplugging it, no matter how its done, once it is disconnected and reconnected the Latency returns to 256 and the Buffer Number returns to 2

Strange behaviour...To me it sounds like a rights mangement problem. You change something but after restart it returns to the default values - it seems you are not allowed to save settings. Very strange!

So, I have changed a few things, firstly; before, both Cross and DVS7 were on my computer and both worked fine. But recently (possibly after I removed and re-installed the U46 driver) DVS7 has not been working properly, then today it would not open at all so I decided to uninstall DVS7. This then affected the U46 driver, and stopped it from working, not only that it made it so that when I unplug the U46 it blue screened my computer (my computer has never blue screened before). I tested this again to make sure it wasn't my computer and when I unplugged it, as expected, my laptop blue screened.
So I am thinking the issues could have possibly been due to DVS7 having some sort of effect on the settings. I have uninstalled DVS7, and the U46 driver, I am now going to re-install the U46 driver without DVS7 on my laptop, and will let you know if it has solved the problem.

I don't see why it will be related.

Neither do I but it just seemed to cause problems, Cross 1.5.4 is out now so maybe the upgrade will solve my pitch wobble issues
