have tried many things over the past few days to get out of the yellow bars in Cross, just cant do it lol!!!

found a hpet setting which i never found before in bios, didnt fix it :(

am i right in thinking if ive disabled both the m-audio cards in system, then rebooted, still getting yellow bars would take the sound cards out of the equazion? (or rather taking irq conflicts/problems out of the equazion)

As a technician, what I would do is :
- try with no soundcard
- try with one soundcard at once
- try in different pci slot to see if there are changes
- try several combination of slots for both cards
for each step, checking which ones give me more or less glitches into dpc.

500 without anything running is just too much, did you try to deactivate some devices into the system panel ?
wifi, lan, bluetooth, card reader or may be it is a driver doing this in this case check with http://resplendence.com/latencymon and look up for drivers consuming time.
