Nah dont think its the program, as there are heaps of Mac users using the u46 with no problems... Well at least the vinyl is reading perfect -Gotta be the signal coming out from the U46 - what is it plugged into after the soundcard? a mixer? is it plugged into a 'line' input or 'phono' on the mixer? (NOTE - should be line level input on the mixer, not PHONO)! phadedvision wrote:Actually, you should be using the Line switch instead of Phono, as Cross parses the signal a lot better.
Whoops! my Bad just tryin to help Cheers

I'm having the same problem, are you saying my mixer should be set to line level and the interface set to phono?

Hey,
on the software you set it like this: Soundcard input using DVS CDs: Line Vinyl: Phono
Soundcard input using Cross CDs: Line Vinyl: Line
from your soundcard to your mixer: Mixer input: Line

I tried this setup, and the software could only read the signal from one of my decks because I am using a Numark tt200 and a Numark ttx. the ttx has the option of line/phono output, but the tt200 only does phono out. once i switched the ttx to line out, the software could read the timecode, but no audio will come out of the mixer unless i plug the soundcard into the phono inputs on my mixer, and the sound coming out is still grainy and distorted. At this point my setup is as follows (using Cross 1.3.2):
SOUNDCARD INPUT (vinyl) tt200 -> phono ttx -> line
SOUNDCARD TO MIXER mixer input: phono (tried line, but no audio came out)
Any suggestions?

hey,
you should set your mixer input to line. the soundcard has line output. to Cross and also to your soundcard you set both player to phone (it is easier). Cross and also your soundcard to this: Soundcard input using DVS CDs: Line Vinyl: Phono
Soundcard input using Cross CDs: Line Vinyl: Line
from your soundcard to your mixer: Mixer input: Line
regards Christian

Sorry to hijack the thread, but could someone explain the bypass thing for me really simply?
I have two str8-100s and a U46MKII. I THINK (I'm not at home right now) my decks are set to line...

Bypass means that you can play casual records though Cross. Click on "Player" in the middle of the mix deck and you can change between "Line" and "Player" where Player is for using timecodes and Line is for playing casual records.

Steve
