Following your config report it's not set in multi audio but in multi kernell mode! Is the internal soundcard working with other software?

I have now used both of my external USB sound cards within multi audio and can hear either the headphones on one device or the sound system on the other device but it still does not monitor eg, i cant hear them both together!

It's not multi audio but MULTI KERNEL...

I appear to be having the same problem. I have it set to multi audio too and on the config it says multi kernal, i doesnt make any sense, its like it tells you your using multi audio, but infact its not?!

I've got the Vestax and the u46mkii and i use the asio4all driver

okay so assuming i understand the problem right

The problem I see is that the headphone output doesn't seem to be mapped when the sound card is detected by the computer. Maybe it's mapped when the u46mkii driver is working but lord knows that i haven't gotten that thing to work PROPERLY for months & i've tried just about everything. I use the asio4all driver

I'm guessing that's part of the problem. Sure you can cue with the monitor functions on the Vestax but in my case I would still end up hearing both channels in the headphones.. although one would be a little louder than the other.

If the headphone output of the u46mkii is not shown when you click on the multi audio set up tab it will not work correctly. use a spare pair of outputs on the u46mkii... maybe 5 & 6. Get yourself a cord that has 2 rca male plugs on one end and a 1/4" stereo jack on the other and select outputs 5 & 6 as "monitor"

Now you will have the control youre looking for.

Mixvibes really needs a better solution than the u46mkii & it's driver software.

Thanks again, but Ive only got 7 days to return it and its not just the software/soundcard issue, one of the decks is faulty, some of the buttons have no function....I have my heart set on the VCI-300 now, Its so much better and the software it comes with apparently works well with Vista and takes up less memory etc, so works better.

If I do decide to hang onto it between now and sat I shall pop online and have a further chat with you all.

No problem Ash... in case you would like to give it a shot, we just posted an update for your version of 3DEX (version 6.411). This version allows you to use Multi-audio with VISTA.

Regarding the monitoring, lt's consider the case where your headphones are plugged in the USB dongle and your internal soundcard is for the master output. You need to set up your internal sound card to output 1 and your USB dongle to output 2 in the multi-audio set up.

You can then activate monitoring by switching your player's output routing. 2 for monitoring, 1 to send in the master output.

Re: [SOLVED] Headphone Will Not Work Wi/ Sound Card Dongle

Postby marrowed on 06 Nov 2008, 23:48

Hi Paul, its not quite solved yet! i have downloaded the tks update but cannot find anywhere to install the dam thing, am i being stupid now?

Once iv updated it and the USB sound card device works then maybe we can say its solved!

I might take you up on the offer of a phone call Paul but I'll try this update first. i hope it works because upgrading to a VCI 300 is an even more expensive option but i might have to bite the bullet.

Thanks for everything.
