what video formats does MixVibes read? I have an mp4 format and whenever I drag it to a turntable nothing happens.

I tried to install ffdshow and xvid codecs and I can't get wmplayer to plays these files. Whats needed for MixVibes to play mp4 type file. Do I need a dll dropped in the exe folder? My record pool is suppling this format.
Mplayer appears to play mp4 format the best. Quicktime is not so good. Now how do I make MixVibes play mp4 format????

if you install ffdshow or xvid you could read mp4 video file as they install mpeg4 decoder. MixVibes read video files if a directshow codec is installed. Windows Media player and winamp do the same. If windows media player or winamp cannot read the file, mixvibes will no be able to read it chek your decoder.ini in "preset" directory (inside mixvibespro.exe install directory) normally you will have in the file (editable with notepad) ... .mp4 .mpg .mpeg .mjpeg .wmv .avi .mov .vob ; mpegvideo decoder... if you want any others extension files you need to add it. for example, to add the extension .divx, the line will be : .divx .mp4 .mpg .mpeg .mjpeg .wmv .avi .mov .vob ; mpegvideo decoderalso remove the extension in any others lines (.mp4 could be also audio file)

OK, out of the sea of filters the directshow filter works for Windows XP, info and instruction are on the following links respectively. http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php ... _Guide#FLV info link http://www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index. ... Here.21.29 install instruction link. (you should uninstall any duplicate filter on your system... why not provide a link so I don't go searching and searching...winding up installing crap The mp4 file now loads and plays the audio, how do I get the video to show up. I have the video rack shown and its blank although the mp4 audio plays.

I have mp4 in my MVPro6\Preset\decoder.ini listed under 2 items
dshowaudio decoder mpegvideo decoder
Are you saying I should remove the ".mp4" extension in the dshowaudio decoder or its will cause a conflict with the mpegvideo decoder...????
Thanks for your help

OK, in the decoder.ini, I removed the mp4 extension from the dshowaudio and MV no longer loads the mp4 video file. Well this tells me the dshowaudio decoder was loading the mp4 explaining why I don't see the video but audio plays. The mpegvideo decoder does NOT load the mp4 yet. At this time mp4 files DO play in windows media player via the Combined Community Pack Decoder I installed from the link above.
Or must I uninstall dshowaudio filter... (I use this for ogg and flac, I don't want to do this)

.wav ; wave decoder .mp3 ; mp3 decoder .wma ; wma decoder .ogg ; ogg decoder .cda ; cdaudio decoder .mid .MIDI ; MIDI decoder .flac .aac ; dshowaudio decoder .mp4 .mpg .mpeg .mjpeg .wmv .avi .mov .vob ; mpegvideo decoder .dll ; VSTI decoder
decoder.ini file attached normally it's the default decoder.ini in the last Producer rc1
if it does not work there will be maybe a bug I cannot test today .mp4 video files but i remember an old test that worked (troubl mpeg4 video)

my original Pro6 decoder.ini file had the mp4 extension for dshowdecoder, my Producer 7 has m4a in dshowdecoder line. I guess m4a is for audio only since it conflicts with video... but this is off the point but thought I'd mention.
In MV Pro6 the mp4 video file loads in the Media viewer, the turntable though shows nothing, thus I unable to play the file.
In MV Producer 7 the mp4 file loads I'm able to play the video although the screens a little dark (still working on this...) OK found the contrast controls. In Producer 7 how do I go back the the Restore size of the video. If I maximize the video screen it does not Restore back to its initial size. Thus have to kill Producer 7 to work around this....
OK UPDATE: The only way to resize the video window in Producer 7 is right click on top edge, select resize and take your mouse and resize the window manually by clicking on a corner and dragging...
At this point I still don't know if MixV Pro6 is capable of playing mp4 audio file????

When I use mp4 video file Player no 1 in Producer 7 show erroneous dark video on the monitor as if the contrast is shot. If I use player no 2 all is OK.
The fader is right smack in the middle, maybe one file is better quality than the other. When I switch the fader to one side video displays (so maybe 2 video playing on top of each other is too much for my machine)... not sure how this should work yet.
UPDATE!!! OK TURN OFF MY VIRUS scan and things have improved. I see fader setting in the middle darken the video and either side of the fader switches video.
I still need to now if MV Pro6 can play video format mp4???

mp4 file does not play in Producer or MVPro6. I have the Combined Community Pack installed and Widows Meida player plays the mp4 file just fine. I hear audio but NO VIDEO when I use Producer or MVPro6.
Am I the only person with this issue?
