headphone help with mac os and discover DJ

Postby runthe9 on 21 Feb 2010, 19:11

i have been trying to figure out what would be the best way to get my headphones to play the cue song threw the headphones only....i know its a setup issue but cant seem to find a good result or a suggestion for an external sound card or audio interface that would suite my needs....
i have both an i mac and mac book with same issues. i am routing my laptop through headphone jack to my ion i DJ ipod mixer with the discover DJ hooked to my laptop via usb sound quality is fine just cant separate the headphones ....

any suggestions would be welcome

ok i think it took, its all listed on my profile,
this is what i am trying now. i am using my ion idj with self powered speakers. i have my discover DJ into my mac book via usb, mac book plugged into idj from mac's headphone jack. it all sounds fine for home use and back yard parties, just have no control over the headphones, i am using the headphones in the idj headphone jack, i hear both decks playing and when i hit the headphone icon it sends the cue song out through the speakers....

  if you check the fourm under help along with topics on ion discover DJ and audio set up it might help you a little ,not sure about the mac operating system  but the main concern is if your audio card has more than one stero out put meaning multi channel   not sure if your reg took but that issue will get sorted out  (dont see a soft ware tag in your heading yet).  The main plus with regersting your software is haveing the experience and expertise of knowelgable user to help you, most of the info is already there in the fourm, plus its a   community

In the audio preferences there should be a possibility to set channels for master and cue. So your external soudncard should appear there and you should be able to assign channels.
