Netbook advice!

Postby rmgil2 on 10 Feb 2010, 16:18

Hi Guys,

Im looking to buy either DVS, or Cross...maybe pro.

I have a Samsung N190 netbook, 1GB, 1.6 Atom processor... will any of these work? i need it to be up to occasional club use.

Thanks,

Rob

A netbook is a great way of having a portable DVS setup. However due to the lower specs you may need to be wary of what you run. 1.6Ghz SHOULD be enough to run Cross, but I'm not sure how Cross handles yet on netbooks. Eventually it should be ideal for netbooks when the Linux version is complete, but for now I'd recommend DVS7 / Producer.

There's lightweight skins designed for netbooks with Producer/DVS so you shouldn't have a problem there :) However, wait and see if anyone recommends Cross on those specs before buying because if Cross would run, I'd say it would be the better choice.

i'd recommend DVS or Producer with your configuration... It's a software that worked fine with older generation machines and still does great with them...

If you tweak your computer it should be fine for club use. I strongly recommend a network-free dedictaed partition on your hard drive with windows XP SP2...

Edit : however you should download and test both demos first to make an educated choice
