Mixvibes freezes

Hi, I had 2 times a freeze last week during spinning vinyl with mixvibes.
one after 1,5 hour of spinning, the other time after 2,5 hour
spinning.
My laptop totally freezed , vci 100 stopped working so I had no control about the volume at all. I could not stop mixvibes or shut down the laptop.
pressed 'ctrl alt delete' , a try to end mixvibes in taskmanager only helped me to get a very loud digital distortion noise that keeped going till I had taken the battery out the laptop. I work in XP with mixvibes DVS.

Can somebody tell why this happens ?

USB dropout ?
It looks like you suddenly unplug the controler, try to do it to see if it act the same.
