Install Issues

Postby DJPreacha on 25 Nov 2009, 03:13

I've just got a new PC (running Vista) and have tried to install mixvibes (DVS Pack 2) and the UK46 MK2.

I'm getting the same problem I always get when trying to install it but can't seem to get it to work at all this time, usually I reboot or reinstall or something and it works. Not this time.

This is a fresh install so there is no old version of the driver or software.

I am using the same USB port all the time.

I follow the install wizard and it successfully detects and installs the driver...apparently. When I launch mixvibes for the first time and go through the wizard it gets 1-2 steps in and reports "U46 Asio Driver Not Present". Device Manager reports the U46DJ to be working.

Looking in the U46MK2 Control Panel everything is gray and unusable.

I've now tried this with 3 different drivers (1.0.35, 1.0.39 and 1.0.41) and get the same result each time. I've also installed the latest DVS update (7.21) and it's the same problem.

Each time I install the driver I make sure the previous one is uninstalled.

When it installs it reports that 3 drivers have been installed.
U46DJ
USB Composite Device
USB Human Interface Device

I've searched the forum but nothing in there helps. There was a link to a tutorial in one post but it just sent me to the FAQ section, which was also not helpful.

Very frustrating. Would have thought following the install wizard would be enough......

Thanks. I wasn't using the ASIO4ALL driver so I went through the instructions in the post you mentioned. Same problem. Thing throws an error after hitting Next on the skin option screen.

"U46 Asio driver not present"

I kept going just to be sure but the U46 doesn't show up in any of the options. Dodgy hardware maybe? I don't think so because it worked on my old machine after this same hassle trying to get it installed last time. But last time it worked eventually.

"U46 Asio driver not present

When you use asio4all you don't use the U46MK2 driver but the Asio4all. So you shouldn't see this message, you selected the wrong driver.
Before launching mixvibes take care of the off line setting of the Asio4all, you need to select the U46dj feed & not the internal sound card...

Usually after installing the U46 drivers/installing ASIO4ALL, MV won't "recognize" your ins/outs. Restarting the program then pressing next past "Drivers not recognized" usually allows you to select your inputs and continue on with the program.

or try new esi drivers for U46DJ revB compatible with U46MK2
ESI Download site
This driver version 3.O is compatible XP, VISTA, Windows7. (All versions 32 & 64 bits) It's much easier to install than previous version, seems to be much more stable.
To all users if you feel your system works well with your actual driver setup don't change anything
