Mediabase tag issue / microphone

Hello,
I've been using MixVibes 6 periodically, as I don't play out as much as I used to. However, I'm trying to solve some problems that I've been experiencing, and I'm having trouble finding the answers in the manual, the FAQ, and the forum.

1) My mediabase only has to deal with about 6000+ songs. About 10% of the songs will not display the genre. It is either blank, or some show a number, eg, (26), (99), etc. All of the songs are properly tagged in ID3V2 and ID3V1. These tags display properly in other media players and software such as tag and rename.

2) I'd like to control a USB mic through the mixvibes soundboard on the "mic" control, but can't get it to work right.

I really would appreciate some help, so that I could get more out of my software.

Hi pchak,

For starters, you should enter your serial number into the space provided in your profile so that you can access the update to MV7.

Concerning your tag issue, I don't fully know why it does that. However, you can manually edit your tags in MV and save the tags so that they'll always show up the way you want them to.

I haven't had experience with a USB microphone in MV, but my best guess would be to click and drag the mic inputs into a player and record your sounds.

Thanks for the reply. I had registered my software (perhaps I mean activate?), but I'm assuming that registration for the forum is not the same. Nevertheless, I will get the reg (currently @work), and supply that. I will then dowload the latest updates, and report if the issue with the mediabase has gone away. Adding in aqll that information is not an option, especially when it's already in the id3 tags.

As for microphone, I was thinking along the lines of using the mic live, in as much that I then only have to walk in with laptop and mic (plus amp/speakers if doing a mobile event), rather than a mixing board as well.

Ok, Now that I've registered my serial number, I went to "downloads" and found no applicable updates.
