I have Home version 6 and would like to try the free update to 7. There doesn't seem to be a live download link when you go into the downloads section. Is it because I use Firefox? Any suggestions?

You have to register your home serial number:

- Register your software (User Control Pannel > Profile > Serial Number)

Hmmm... Maybe I've entered the activation key instead of the serial number. I purchased it a while back online. Is there somewhere inside the program that tells you what the serial number is?

Hello

Your serial number is printed on your installation CD (or printed on the CD box).

If you bought your software online (in the download shop), you have received an email from Share IT with your serial number.

I've looked in my share-it email and they give you a license-key and a download liink but the licence key seems to be 5 groups of 5 ( e.g xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx) where as the Control Panel asks for a serial number where the first group has 6) Is there somewhere I can send the verification email so they can validate that I have bought it and send me an updated serial number?

your serial is ok but you have 3DEX & there isn't any update to version 7...
