CAn I save the Playlist in MV7 as I did for Pro6 sequence

Postby richjoh on 03 Nov 2008, 01:47

Someone tell me how this works in MV7.

Cause in MV6 you have a Mediabase file that uses "sequence.vsq" file that is linkED to a mediabase. Using MV7, I loaded a mediabase that has songs in the Playlist thinking I can save the playlist now I'm f*cked.

Does MV7 only use mediabase... is this a change from Pro6???? Once the playlist or sequece is saved it would nice to see the name of the current playlist/sequence cus the only way to see the name in Pro6 is during the save... if you lost track of your names saving well you could overwrite the wrong file.....

ALSO THE BEAT MATCHING ON LOAD IS HOSED IN MV7 and Pro6 BTW! I'm playing at +3.0, load the other turntable and its sets the speed to 5.3, WTF...

Hi richjoh,

You reallly should install MixVibes 7 on another repertory so you'll figure this out by yourself. It will not affect MixVibes 6 I promise!

You can use the MebiaBase (.vib file) to save your playlist. Drag and drop file from the mediabase to your playlist and then save your mediabase [File > MediaBase > Save]. Next time you'll open your mediabase, you will find your playlist.

You can use the playlist. Drag and drop file from the mediabase to your playlist and then export your playlist [Playlist > Export]. Next time import your playlist.

OK, its nice to find this out. Thx DJEgun.

It makes sense to think there is maybe a printed document or a README file to tell me all these changes but I have yet to come across one. I see see MixVibes has gone to the standard of using m3u file instead of vsq...

The Playlist menu should not be "import" "export"... Over here in the US it sounds like a conversion is taking place or your crossing some border. How about "Open" "Save"... AND GIVE ME QUICK KEYS FOR THIS as its currently setup!

Thanks egun for looking into this.

I don't really get your last paragraph Richjoh... What's going on in the US ? A conversion is taking place ? GO OBAMA !

More seriously, I'd like to get in touch with you to have an overview of all your issues with your conversion to version 7. It seems you've been having issues with compatibility importing your mediabases and playlists.

But as you were previously told we can not perform any maintenance on previous versions and - you can install version 7 to another directory so as to test it out and find out what precisely are your issues in upgrading.

My BIGGEST issue with MV7 is the SKINs. I don't like them, I prefer the Pro6 orange skin. All have all the button I need not all the waste in MV7 skins.

I'm looking at reworking the old skin to make the Search work in MV7, since no one has put this out, I gotta think there are other who need it...the old skin.

I mention this in another post so I won't wine on and on in this post...

I'm sorry to say you are the first user to ask for the PRO6 skin. We've had no real complaints on the new skins, franly we received a lot of enthusiastic feedback on the look and feel of version 7. I'm sorry you don't like it, but I can't ask all the development to focus on the issue of one user...

We have made a 'ticket' on your feedback and it will be taken in account based on priorites and pertinenence as for all feedback ! thanks for taking the time to share your feedback though, we need it to kep on making mixVibes a better software :D
