Are you using the same Combined Community Pack I mentioned in this post? I can't help you, but I don't follow why your XP worked perfectly and mine doesn't. I think this issue is ignored... maybe they think its the user error? I still don't know whether MV Pro can play video files?

Here's how I fixed my problem with mp4 video NOT playing. My original decoder.ini has a reference to m4a (dshowaudio decoder) and mp4 (mpegvideo decoder) respecively. MP4 AND M4A are the same damn thing if you read the history. MP4 is video+audio and M4A is supposedly audio only. It appears MV does not distiguish which is which. In my case, m4a is listed first so it interprets the mp4 as audio only. Since I don't have any m4a files I removed m4a from the decoder.ini and make sure mp4 is listed under the mpegvideo decoder. When you load an mp4 make sure the File:Option (Video Tab) "Screen Visible" is checked. You also need to slide the software fader to either channel (not in the middle) to see the video. Here's the path. C:\Program Files\MixVibesPro6\Preset\decoder.ini Hmmm when I think about this though, the software fader becomes an issue since I never use it and it could interfer when I'm mixing with real turntables. The question becomes "is there a way to show the video WITHOUT using the software Cross fader???

VCI 100 do the job very well (as an example of MIDI device adapted to video)

Oh OK MIDI... I'll keep that in mind.
The video appears ok with the fader set in the middle... I hooked up 2 turntables and a mixer and now scratching video... only draw back is I don't have a dual core cpu, (well not yet). My single core handles 1 deck but not 2 video decks simultaneously.
(I wonder if dual core CPU will do justice for mixing with 2 video decks,.... anyone out there....)
To sum it up, to make video work using MV6Pro, you need to... 1)install the filters in this thread. 2)check "enable video" in the Option/"General Tab" 3)check "screen visible" in the Option/"Video Tab" 4)remove 1 of 2 "mp4" extension from the decoder.ini file mentioned above....if your playing mp4 of course.

hey rich are you playing mp4s with version 7.100 or have you stuck to an earlier version ?
I'm actually having a problem loading .m4a files i think its just an issue with the latest version.
Can you load m4a's ? Those are the DRM free iTunes store files. I wanna play' em !

Polocorp,
I remember early on using MV for the first time and trying to play m4a(s) and at that time didn't have the right plugin.... and never really revisited m4a
I've used mp4 files (video) not the m4a using MixVibes 7.1 and Pro6 (version 6.394). I'd think m4a should play. 7.1. Decoder.ini default is this """
.aac .m4a ; dshowaudio decoder .mp4 .mpg .mpeg .mjpeg .wmv .avi .mov .vob ; mpegvideo decoder """ That default ini should work but I can't test since I don't have an m4a. In my case I removed the m4a and alls well for mp4. If you like a sanity check, send me one of those m4a and I'll check if it loads and plays...
