DJ BOARD FIX!

Postby cereal on 25 Dec 2010, 22:47

Hello everyone!

I received the DJ Discovery System as a gift. Awesome gift! But there was a problem, the hardware board didn't work but lit up like my Xmas tree! The following is what I did to get it working...

Close ALL programs and UNPLUG your DJ board.

- Go into Device Manager to make sure it was installed properly (Device Manager; under the sound, video and game controllers options). If its there with a yellow mark, uninstall and reinstall. If its there with no yellow mark, uninstall anyway and then reinstall. Close ALL applications (windows).
- Plug in the DJ Board. DO THIS FIRST BEFORE LAUNCHING THE SOFTWARE!
- Run the Mixvibes software.
- ALL board lights will NOT light up, only the ones you use will light up and blink.
- ENJOY!!!

Can a moderator please mark this thread as sticky? It seems to be a solution for a lot of desperate Dicover DJ users.

Thanks!

It is just the normal behavior of adding a device to a system :
- check hardware detection/installation
- relaunch computer if needed
- start software after correct detection/installation of hardware

I will add this into the main post : viewtopic.php?f=268&t=16106&p=94882#p94882

The following solution (logitech drivers) fixed it!
Symptom;

All 8 lights are lit, and stay lit. The controller will not work, and is not recognized by the software.

Solution
This symptom indicates the controller is not being recognized by the computer. The most common causes are:

Conflict with Logitech Web Cam drivers. If the computer has a built-in Logitech or LabTech Web Cam, or if a Logitech or LabTech USB Web Cam has ever been connected to the computer, these product's drivers will prevent any other standard USB Audio or MIDI devices (like the Discover DJ) from being properly recognized by the computer.]·

· Missing or corrupted Windows System files. Microsoft’s USB Audio Codes drivers are build into the computer's operating system. If these files are missing or corrupted, standard USB Audio or MIDI devices like the Discover DJ will not be properly recognized by the computer.

In order to resolve this issue you will need to reinstall the USB Audio CODEC.
You may want to make a restore point before continuing.

Now you want to get the appropriate drivers per your operating system, the instruction are included in the ZIP file either in text or PDF format.

Thanks, but can you outline how to solve the same problem on a MAC?
