Transformer type sound???

Postby DJ gILLy2hype on 07 May 2011, 07:44

Soo I just picked up a new deck, the Technic 1200 M3D to be exact and Mixvibes works fine on it, but when I'm juggling and such or when I stop the record it keeps giving me a transformer like sound at the slightest move to the record, this was'nt happening at all with my other MK2, So I'm a bit confused. It still sounds alright but not as clean as I'd like it to be. Any help??

Hi,

was the m3d bought used or new?
do you get the transformer-sounds on fast a slow movement?
Are you using a different cart?
Are your setting still the same within Cross?

cheers

I bought the M3D used, its only when I slow the record down do I get the weird sound. Example: When the mixvibes vinyl is playing I'll press the stop/start button on the Technic and as it slows down the sound gets distorted. I've done this on both of my other decks and it doesnt do that. And yes I'm still using the same cart and needle. And the settings are still the same. Should I calibrate it different or something?

Sometimes very little noise by the needle, the tonearm or from the cables are interpreted by the software as very slow moving timecode and so the tracks moves very little for- and backward. This might sound transformer like.
As you have said you have bought used turntables - maybe this is the reason?! Just my thoughts...

Idk, That could be the problem, From what I can tell and see, the tone arm and everything seems straight, my cart seems fine.. Idk. :(

tonearm/needle wiring problems can cause this. have you tried using the needle from the deck that doesn't make the noise?

Are you in "Speed" (Not "Hybrid" nor "Tempo") mode on both players ?
