Mixer/Sound stystem help

Postby DJ gILLy2hype on 01 Mar 2011, 11:38

Ok, So I just purchased Mixvibes Cross. Setup everything. Just downloaded the new version. All RCA cables are where there supposed to be and what not. I'm new to this whole timecoded thing and its really frustrating me. I have a few problems...lol.

1. When I plug my headphones into my mixer the quality is terrible, the gain levels are normal as are the bass, highs, and lows etc.. But when I plug my system into the Mixvibes vibes box it sounds great but it will play both decks simultaniously, meaning the Cross fader does nothing.... Im really confused and frustrated right now. Any help would be tight. Thanks.

A list of my equipment is in my profile.

Hey,

can you please post a config report? And a silly question from me: Have you put the output of the U46Mk2 into the mixer in the Phone input or Line INput?

regards
Christian

Using timecodes you are working with an "External Mixer" routing and so the both decks playing will be send out simultaniously. You have to "control" the sound with your mixer. Otherwise this won't work.

Here is a short descritption of how to install the timecode system:

1. Left turntable/CD player is plugged into Input 1/2 of your interface
2. Right turntable/CD player is plugged into Input 3/4 of your interface
3. Output 1/2 is the output of the left deck, plug it in your mixer
4. Output 3/4 is the output of the right deck, plug it in your mixer

So now you can listen to the sound in your mixer and if there is a headphone jack on your audio interface you can listen to it there.

If your sound is good at the headphone jack of the audio intreface but really bad on the headphone jack of your mixer then you should check the connections between the audio interface outputs and the mixer. Maybe the mxier is broken or the cables are broken.

Steve
