No, this is not what I meant.

For purpose test, get ride of iTunes. To do so simply change the name of the library so now Discover won't find it, so won't load it.

Now try to import the tracks into the collection with the Cross explorer's to see if you still have crashes on scanning folders for medias.

1- everything is fine then it's an iTunes issue.
2 - if not then it is a corrupted/altered media issue.

The Discover version don't have update so you won't be able to apply any fix to it.

Hi there,

the crash is due to an invalid iTunes xml file...
Can't get why iTunes create such a rubbish file...

FYI, line 31375 is invalid...
Code: Select all
<key>Location</key>
<string>file://localhostˇUsers/Fˇisal/Muˇic/iTunøs
/iTune%20Medi~/Music/›ompilat~ons/Guitar%20
Music%20For%20Small%20Rooms%202/09%20Sleepwalk.m4a
</string>

The W3C validator (this check the xml validity) says:
Code: Select all
"Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 31375 it contained one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.
The error was: utf8 "\xFF" does not map to Unicode"

Try removing the" 09 Sleepwalk.m4a" track from your iTunes library, it could fix the problem, considering there's no other buggy entries in it...

The next Cross release won't crash anymore but will still be unable to load this iTunes file. However, there's unfortunately no update planned for your Cross LE version, so hope removing the buggy entry will do the trick !

Cheers,
SylMV
