ion discover DJ not responsive

hey,

i just got the ion discover DJ - using my macbook pro.

the sync, rev, cue, play lights come on but nothing else. the software works fine with my mouse. the scratch button does not light up and none of the knobs connect with the software.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
