Hi, we just got the Discovery DJ and installed Cross DJ on an XP machine. As with many of the posts I've seen, the board gets power thru the USB cable but is not properly recognized by the computer, so has no functionality. I know the Discovery DJ is good, beacuse it works on my Vista machine, but I don't want it on my Vista machine.
This is a problem with how XP recognizes the machine and configures audio to let it work. I believe the Device Manager entry that XP installs for the hardware is a USB Audio Device. There are a bunch of drivers listed there. I have sound on the motherboard and a second sound card, which I have disabled.
I have tried every way I could of setting up the Audio in Cross DJ, but the software never responds to the board--only to the computer mouse.
If my plan is to mix mp3 songs for output to a file or speakers, what are the correct audio settings for Cross DJ, and what should the setup look like in Device Manager? Has anyone solved this similar issue that I see so many posts on without a solution offered?
Thanks, Jeff
