Ion Disocer DJ - Headphone Setup

Postby goalman2000 on 23 Nov 2010, 22:36

Hi

I'm having a nightmare trying to setup headphone for monitoring on the Ion Discover/using Cross 1.2.9.

Install Asio and played with the various input/output but no joy.

I plug in my headphones into the jack and they (obviously) channel all of the sound through them rather than as a monitor despite me clicking the icon.

Any assistance massively appreciated.

The soundcard is a standard laptop one with a mic in and headphone out and is "Realtek".

You can't have separate monitor with only one output, you need at least 2 outputs (talking of pairs).

OK - so I guess you're saying I should have 'line out' or similar on the laptop - I don't - only a headphone and microphone - bit rubbish really.

Any suggestions on how I can get a second output (save for a new laptop!).

Thanks

You can have a look at external audio interfaces like U-Mix 44 or U46 MK II. These are in box sets with mixvibes software, so I can recommend it all the way. I am using an U46 MK II and I am totally happy with it!

A cheaper solution is to use a usb dongle soundcard and asio4all to aggregate them as a unique device.

I'm having an issue trying to set up my headphones for cueing.

I'm running Cross DJ on a Macbook pro with Snow Leopard. I set up an aggregate device with a Turtle Beach USB sound card and the regular output. But in Cross DJ's preferences, I don't ever get the option for output 3/4, just output 1/2 no matter what I do.

Any ideas? Thanks.

You can try this soundcard : U-Mix44

http://www.mixvibes.com/en/content/u-mix44-overview

89€, 2 inputs / 2 outputs + microphone and headphone.
